Column Method Multiplication 3 Digit by 2 Digit
The steps to be followed for the column method multiplication of a three-digit number by a two-digit number is as follows:
- Multiply the one’s digit of the number by one’s digit of the multiplier.
- Multiply the tens digit of the number by one’s digit of the number.
- Multiply the Hundred’s digit of the number by one’s digit of the multiplier.
- Multiply the one’s digit of the number by the tens digit of the multiplier.
- Multiply the tens digit of the number by the tens digit of the number.
- Multiply the Hundred’s digit of the number by the tens digit of the multiplier.
- Add the products.
The same procedure has to be followed for the multiplication of the two-digit number by the two-digit number.
