9 ÷ 1 = 9
20 ÷ 10 = 2
50 ÷ 5 = 10
30 ÷ 5 = 6
18 ÷ 2 = 9

Question 3.
Frank, Joe, and Carl went with their grandma to the bakery. She said that they could use the change she got back to buy mini-chip cookies to share equally. She bought a cake for $11 and two loaves of bread for$2.70 each. She paid with a $20 bill. The mini-chip cookies cost 40¢ each. How many cookies did each boy get? Show all your work. Answer: Given, Frank, Joe, and Carl went with their grandma to the bakery. She said that they could use the change she got back to buy mini-chip cookies to share equally. She bought a cake for$11 and two loaves of bread for $2.70 each. 2 × 2.70 =$5.40
Total Grandma spent = cost of cake + cost of 2 loaves of bread
= 11 + 5.40
= $16.40 She paid with a$20 bill. The mini-chip cookies cost 40¢ each.
Change left:
$20 –$16.40
= $3.6 Thus the change left with them is$3.60

Question 4.
a. Rosa and Clarice are making sandwiches for all the students in their class and their teacher. There are 23 students in their class. Each loaf of bread has 16 slices. They don’t want to use the slices on the ends of the bread, because most students don’t like them. If they make 1 sandwich for each student and for the teacher, how many loaves of bread will they need? Show all your work.
Given,
There are 23 students in their class. Each loaf of bread has 16 slices.
23 + 1 = 24
= 24(2)
= 48
48 ÷ 16
= 3
The number of loaves of bread they will need is 3.

b. Rosa and Clarice realized they would have some bread left over (not including the end pieces), so they decided to make sandwiches for the librarian, office staff, and custodian. How many sandwiches will they be able to make? 23 + 1 = 24
= 24(2)
= 48
48 ÷ 16
= 3
