 # Adding with Zero | 0 Property of Addition | What Happens on Adding Zero to a Number?

When we add a number to 0 the result is equal to the number itself. By referring to the solved examples you can learn how to solve addition problems in which one of the addends is zero, another addend is a number. Refer to the Solved Examples on Adding with Zero for a better understanding of the addition facts of 0.

### Adding with Zero Tables up to 25

 0+1=1 0+6=6 0+11=11 0+16=16 0+21=21 0+2=2 0+7=7 0+12=12 0+17=17 0+22=22 0+3=3 0+8=8 0+13=13 0+18=18 0+23=23 0+4=4 0+9=9 0+14=14 0+19=19 0+24=24 0+5=5 0+10=10 0+15=15 0+20=20 0+25=25

When Two Addends are Added Together, If we interchange the addends the sum would be the same. Check if the sum varies or not after interchanging the addends in the below table.

 1+0=1 6+0=6 11+0=11 16+0=16 21+0=21 2+0=2 7+0=7 12+0=12 17+0=17 22+0=22 3+0=3 8+0=8 13+0=13 18+0=18 23+0=23 4+0=4 9+0=9 14+0=14 19+0=19 24+0=24 5+0=5 10+0=10 15+0=15 20+0=20 25+0=25

### Zero Representation

Zero is halfway between -1 and +1 on the Number Line. Zero is neither a positive number nor a negative number. Example 1.
What is the related addition fact for 7+0 =7 among the following?
(a) 0 + 3 = 3
(b) 5 + 0 = 5
(c) 0 + 7 = 7
(d) 2 + 0 = 2
Solution:
We can add numbers in any order. We will get the same sum irrespective of the order of addends.
The related addition fact for 7+0=7 is 0+7 = 7
On interchanging the addends too the sum remains the same.
Example 2.
Which is the related addition fact for 0+23=23?
(a) 23 + 0 = 23
(b) 15 + 0 = 15
(c) 0 + 0 = 0
(d) 13 + 0 = 13
Solution:
We know we can add the numbers in any order and the sum is the same.
The related addition fact for 0+23=23 is 23+0=23
Even after the interchanging, the sum is the same.
